Alice in wonderland: All in the golden afternoon

Bewildered

ALL in the golden afternoon
Full leisurely we glide;
For both our oars, with little skill,
By little arms are plied,
While little hands make vain pretence
Our wanderings to guide.

Ah, cruel Three! In such an hour,
Beneath such dreamy weather,
To beg a tale of breath too weak
To stir the tiniest feather!
Yet what can one poor voice avail
Against three tongues together?

Hello I am trying to get this poetry but I find it difficult can you please help I am struggling to understand word like glide, plied... etc I used bold text to refer to text I don't know.

Glide: move smoothly

Plied: worked (used)

Breath too weak to stir the tiniest feather: a breath that is not strong, it cannot move a feather (whisper, or similar)

Avail: help, benefit

Of course, it is a poem, so it has weird phrasing that doesn't make literal sense. It sounds cool or is metaphorical.
